A 100 years ago today, the skaters who could afford to remain in Davos were making circuits on the famous ice, waiting axiously for word from Klagenfurt. Today the news came; the Wörther See was opening up, and the organisers saw no hope for the championship. So the skaters packed their things and prepared to leave. After a quick exchange of wires, the KSK skaters were ordered to proceed to Stockholm to participate in the new cup match. They could still get there in time if the trains were on schedule. The club also informed that they were going to invite skaters of the continent to a replacement European Championship in two weeks time.
